A clarion call from the youth wing of the CPDM Ndian IV Section, in partnership with concerned militants of the section to enhance the economic and socio-political situation of the Subdivision through a unity football match

For more than a decade, residents of Bamusso Subdivision have been largely absent from political pursuits due to the on-going Anglophone Crisis. The Legislative and Municipal Elections of 2026 promise a departure from the past, as the youths and the engaged populace have made a commitment to take charge of social, economic and political matters.

Over the weekend, on Saturday, December 13, a political awareness campaign unfolded in Illoani Balondo, Bamusso Subdivision, in response to the stagnation of CPDM party activities. The CPDM members in Bamusso expressed their disillusionment, feeling disenfranchised by the current leadership and structure of the Ndian IV Section that overlooks the needs of youth and women to say the least; contradicting the Head of State’s vision for party inclusivity.

There is an urgent call for new, dynamic, and innovative leaders to promote unity, collaboration and the development of the Subdivision by 2035, as well as to draw in more members and influential figures dedicated to driving real change and progress in the Subdivision, given that the existing leadership of the Ndian IV Section President has somewhat neglected this mission.

To realise these goals, a campaign was initiated by prominent youths and elites under the CPDM umbrella from various villages in Bamusso Subdivision, who have taken the lead to forge a better Bamusso under the motto “Make Bamusso Great Again” through a unifying sensitisation team called REBIRTH. This campaign witnessed the gathering of youths, women, and elders from nearly every village in Bamusso Subdivision. In preparation for the event, discussions were held with women, youth, traditional councils, and religious organisations to identify the most effective strategy to revitalise our beloved party, CPDM, in light of the growing presence of the SDF and now the surging move in favour of FSNC in our municipality – a situation seen as a result of the divisive leadership of the CPDM Section President. The outcomes of these discussions reached a consensus on the idea of organising a football tournament to bring together our party members, encourage dialogue and nurture community building across Bamusso Subdivision. The day kicked off with a football match between the Ekombes and the Balondos, which concluded in a 1-1 tie after an enjoyable display of excitement and camaraderie.

The ‘REBIRTH’ leaders engaged in a brief direct interaction with the community, fostering a friendly rapport among the attendees. Many voiced their concerns about the increased pressure of the opposition party SDF, and to some extent, FSNC in their respective areas. Several people expressed a genuine desire for a change of the CPDM leadership in Bamusso to keep the CPDM presence in the Subdivision and hoped that REBIRTH could serve as the catalyst for transformative growth within the entire Subdivision.

Rebirth embodies the breath of fresh air that has arrived in Bamusso Subdivision, with its members committing their unwavering support to ensure that Bamusso Subdivision, through the CPDM platform, secures credible and dependable leaders who will turn promises into action and suppress the growing presence of the SDF and any other opposition parties.

In a rapidly changing world, the ability to shape a collective future rests in the hands of the most active population. REBIRTH stands as a movement dedicated to cultivating a culture of responsible politics, where every voice is valued and progress is a communal undertaking.
