Kribi Seaport Biggest, Deepest, Fastest In Gulf Of Guinea

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) has positioned itself as the biggest and fastest business hub in the Gulf of Guinea.

With its innovative digital receipting and fast clearance, it has earned the title of “smart port” and “attractive business” hub.

This has earned PAK certifications and awards. It was certified for port safety and security in 2018.

It equally received various awards in Cameroon and abroad, viz: Best Quayside Productivity Award granted in December 2023 by PMAWCA during its General Meeting held in Lagos, Nigeria; Milestone Achievement Awards won in October 2033 in Brusselles at the Rebranding Africa Awards; Award for Strategic Support given to the PAC by the Cameroon Customs Directorate (DGD) in October 2022 in Yaounde.

PAK has as values: Innovation, overcoming itself, Responsibility, Sharing and Professionalism. These values advocate creativity, flexibility, performance, commitment, responsibility, security, strength and passion and make PAC a place of excellence and character.

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) is a public Cameroonian company created in 1999 and recognised by decrees No. 2020/250 and No. 2020/251.

Activities

PAK has as responsibility to ensure the management, operation, maintenance, upkeep of the Kribi Deep Seaport located in Mboro, 35km south of Kribi, Cameroon.

PAK equally manages a port dedicated to servicing operations on the Kienke River and equally carries out pilotage and security watch on the oil and gas terminals of Kome-Kribi I, Ebome and Hilli Episeyoo

 Strategic Orientations

The strategic plan is a milestone in PAK development while affirming its local presence, its vocation as trustworthy partner and its will to províde users with

the expertise and know-how of a reference port. This strategic growth ambition is based on several pillars:

  • Strengthening customer relations and delivering the highest service quality
  • Providing a range of products and services to the highest international standards, relying on internationally renowned operators and cost flexibility
  • Investing in innovation, new technologies and digital technologies to offer new customer experiences and optimised customer care
  • Developing PAK’s organisation to promote agility in decision-making and proactive teams
  • Playing an active part in the positive transformation of the national economy, as a responsible and socially committed operator.

Corporate Social Responsibility

PAK is fully aware of its responsibility as a Port and economic and industrial partner in economic development, environmental and social progress and, more generally, in the DOsitive transformation of Cameroon.

By making Corporate Social Responsibility a Cross-functional strategic priority, PAK is helping to build greener, more inclusive development models, and to provide innovative, responsible solutions with a positive impact.

Its ambition for sustainable growth and support for all stakeholders has made it possible to give full meaning to porti operations, in line with its values of responsibility, commitment, team spirit and innovation.

PAK’s CSR approach is based on five main areas of intervention:

  • Promoting inclusion through solidarity, education and culture through the Kribi Socio-Economic Support Programme (PASEK), which supports local communities and associative partners, with initiatives led by various port stakeholders.
  • Acting as a responsible employer with regard to its human capital, covering aspects of recruitment, staff retention, development, training, safety, listening, fairness.., diversity and inclusion.
  • Making responsible port activity a shared and mobilising objective, which integrates environmental and social criteria in the support provided to users and in the development of responsible and innovative port solutions.
  • Acting as an environmental player committed to reducing its carbon footprint and contributing to green initiatives.
  • Ensuring sound governance and ethical and responsible behaviour at all levels, especially through compliance and the safety of port operations, and by placing the user at the core of all activities.

PAK’s Perspectives

The 2nd phase of the construction of the Kribi Deep-sea Port was launched with the two-fold aim of increasing the competitiveness of the port of Kribi by making it a leading logistics hub, and anticipating the approaching congestion of port facilities. It is being carried out on an EPC basis by CHEC ata total cost of USD793 million (around CFAF 400 billion). The development Work covers an area of around 1,500 hectares of raw land. Ultimately, these developments will enable the PAK to offer economic operators a full range of real estate, including warehouses ready-to-use offices and serviced bare plots to the highest standards.
