Nestlé Cameroun Invests in Youth’s Future with Launch Of 2025 Apprenticeship Programme

Young talents ready to be go through Nestlé’s empowerment programme

Nestlé Cameroun has officially welcomed ten young graduates into the 2025 edition of its intensive 18-month Apprenticeship Programme.

The initiative, which forms a key part of the global Nestlé Needs YOUth programme, is designed to bridge the gap between academic study and professional life. Since its worldwide launch in 2013, the overarching scheme has helped over five million young people access economic opportunities.

The 10 selected candidates, hailed as promising talents from universities across Cameroon, will embark on a comprehensive journey that blends theoretical classroom learning with practical, hands-on experience within key departments of the company.

 A Gateway to Meaningful Careers

The programme underscores Nestlé’s firm commitment to enhancing youth employability and fostering skill development in the regions where it operates. Aminou Mohamadou, Human Resources Manager for Nestlé Central Africa, emphasised the transformative potential of the initiative.

“At Nestlé, we believe every young person deserves a chance to shine,” stated Mr. Mohamadou. “This programme is much more than professional immersion: it is a gateway to a meaningful career, a space for learning, contribution, and transformation.”

The new cohort of apprentices brings a diversity of academic backgrounds to the table, including engineering, management, logistics, and nutritional sciences. Over the next year and a half, they will receive comprehensive training in core business areas such as Marketing & Sales, Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain, Production, and Quality.

For the apprentices, the programme is already proving to be a period of significant personal and professional growth. Tiomeguim Pierrette Maeva, a Generating Demand Apprentice in the Sales department, shared her early impressions.

“If I had to sum up my journey so far, I’d say that, sometimes you must unlearn everything you know, to truly relearn, grow, and transform at Nestlé,” she stated. “I am grateful for the opportunity to reinvent myself in an environment that nurtures growth and purpose.”

Tackling Real Challenges for Tangible Impact

Nestlé has made it clear that the 2025 apprentices are not passive observers. The company expects them to tackle genuine business challenges, propose innovative solutions, and actively contribute to both their communities and the company’s ongoing transformation.

This experiential approach ensures that by the end of the 18-month programme, participants would have gained solid, relevant professional experience. This preparation is designed to equip them to either continue their careers within the global Nestlé Group or enter the wider job market with highly recognised and sought-after expertise.

The apprenticeship launch forms a key part of Nestlé Cameroun’s broader youth outreach. The company confirmed that since the beginning of 2025, it has already reached more than 6,500 young people in Cameroon through various initiatives focused on employability, capacity building, and entrepreneurship.
