Ndip Ben Ntui, aka Lacombe, has had a dynamic playing career that spanned over a decade, during which he represented nearly eight different clubs across various levels of competition in the Southwest Region of Cameroon.

Ndip began his football journey in 1991 with Prisons Social Club of Buea, a club that would play a significant role in shaping his early career. He showcased his skills and tenacity on the pitch until 1992, helping the team garner local support with his promising talent. His remarkable performance earned him a move to Tiko United Football Club, aka Samba Boys, where he played during their First Division championship from 1993 to 1994. This period was pivotal in developing his competitive edge, as he faced formidable opponents in the top tier of Cameroonian football.

In 1995, Ndip’s impressive prowess grabbed the attention of Musole Strikers, a club he joined, further expanding his experience in different football contexts. His commitment to growth in the sport led him back to his roots at Prisons Social Club of Buea in 1996, where he once again made significant contributions on the field.

The following year, in 1997, Ndip transferred to Top Tarzan of Mutengene, continuing to build his reputation as a versatile and skillful player. However, he returned to Tiko United FC in 1998 for a brief stint before joining Botafogo AFC of Buea, where he played from 1998 to 2002. His time at Botafogo was particularly impactful, as he played an instrumental role in elevating the club’s status in the Southwest Region and contributed significantly to its success during his tenure.

Achievements

Throughout his playing career, which lasted from 1991 until 2002, Ndip Ben Ntui accumulated a remarkable list of accolades that underscored his talents and dedication to the sport. He was part of the Prisons Social Club team that won the prestigious Beaufort Cup in 1992, marking one of his first significant achievements. His prowess helped secure the Governor’s Cup in 1996, a testament to his ability to perform at high levels under pressure.

While at Botafogo AFC, Ndip celebrated tremendous success, helping the team clinch regional championships in both 2000 and 2001. These achievements facilitated Botafogo’s representation in the National Interpools during those seasons, further highlighting his contribution to the club’s legacy.

His consistently impressive performances on the field earned him call-ups to the Under 16 and Junior National teams of Cameroon, demonstrating his potential on a national level. Unfortunately, his promising career was cut short due to a knee injury, which ultimately led to his retirement from professional football.

Reflecting on his career, Ndip asserts that his most cherished memories arise from his time with Botafogo AFC during the thrilling 2001 National Interpools and his experiences competing in the top-flight league with Tiko United FC.

His journey through football has provided him with invaluable lessons that he is eager to pass on to the younger generation of players. He frequently advises aspiring footballers to “stay focused, be patient, and work hard while maintaining belief in themselves,” emphasizing the importance of perseverance in achieving success.

Coaching Career

Transitioning from player to coach, Ndip Ben Ntui has established himself as a highly qualified football coach in Cameroon. He was part of the technical staff that guided Victoria United FC to Elite One status after their championship triumph in Elite Two in 2023.

He is also the DTC for Fako Division.

As a coach, Ndip led Botafogo AFC to the esteemed 8th Finals of the Cup of Cameroon, where they faced the challenging Astres FC of Douala, a match that demonstrated his ability to compete at high levels even in coaching. Under his leadership, Cinyodev represented the Southwest Region in the Cup of Cameroon in 2019, 2021 and 2024, showcasing his commitment to fostering talent and promoting competitive football in the area.

Even now, Coach Ndip continues to be a vital contributor to the growth and development of football in the Southwest region, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of players and advancing the sport he loves so dearly. His passion for football and dedication to his community remain unwavering as he looks to the future.
